Slide That Chair Together

Slide That Chair Together

Slide it! Make sure everything fits! Woola! How lovely it is! Made entirely out of CNC-cut pieces of wood, this right here goes by the name “Android-System.” It’s a chair that will come to you in a bunch of parts, flat, and you’ve got to put them all together. Sounds simple? That’s because it totally is simple. Just like that.

Each One that Sits on Goes Ahhh

Each One that Sits on Goes Ahhh

That’s a comfort “Ahhh”, not a scream. Though you MIGHT be screaming when you find out how excellent this chair is. That’s what we’re talking about. It’s a seat that goes by the name “Ipanema armchair,” and it’s oh, so pretty. Made out of medium densified hardwood with a multi-laminated shell wood. This sort of combo allows for a great number of shapes, they say, and your eyeballs are about to explode with flavor when you see the ones they’ve combo’d.

Realize the Stud

Realize the Stud

It’s more than just a stud, it’s two studs. Right here we’ve got a table and chair set by the name of “Stud.” It’s heavy on the stud, easy on the sitting at the table chilling out, fabulous on the eyes. This Stud refers to a small button or earring in that together, the stud chair and table appears to be wearing tiny earrings itself! Designer Cho Hyung Suk aimed here to create a chair composed of only one module. Here it is. Stay seated.

A Swell Rockin Lounger

A Swell Rockin Lounger

So you’ve got one big wooden plate, right? What are you gonna do with it? Make an ashtray? No. That’s a terrible idea. Instead, I’ve got basically the best idea. Actually it was Marietta Moraweg who had the idea, then totally designed it and had it executed. It’s got so many parallel cuts in it, you’re going to be lounging for basically forever. All summer long, anyway, I bet. And from where I’m posting, that’s kinda starting basically right now, it’s springtime. Time to rock.

Logs Are for Lovers

Logs Are for Lovers

Here! What have we got here! Why, it’s logs! Lovely, lovely logs, used rightfully simply as furniture for the home. In a brand new way, I must say. Keeping them basically rough in nature, adding just plug-ins of interior comfort for the cuteness. And they are so very cute when you’ve got them all set up nice! The key to this project is designer Ilan Dei Studio’s keywords – Urban Renewal. Wild.

Replacing Candle-lit Dinners With Firefly

Replacing Candle-lit Dinners With Firefly

The Firefly Table is honestly a very neat concept that I can foresee being snapped into production. Intended for outdoor cafés and restaurants, the idea is to use a solar lamp instead of romantic candlelights for illumination. The centrally placed lamp pops up to emit a soft glow while projecting any form of branding (via stencils) to the floor-space below. Imagine being “popped the question” in this unique fashion, or even attracting sponsors with this extra added value. Tobasco, Heinz, you listening?

Besides being good for your flubber, skipping seems to be a good way for harnessing energy to recharge batteries. I know this idea is not so new; we have seen how jumping a rope can power a torch and juice batteries. However design is not only about problem solving, but also about refining existing solutions, hence the E Rope. Refinement comes in the form of aesthetics and interface. Both look gorgeously done in this one. Moreover, the video says it all…..

Bus Stop High On OLED

Bus Stop High On OLED

At least you got decent bus stops in your country, so you got no reason to complain. Look at us, here in the developing world, we are modern enough to have internet at home, but basics like infrastructure and bus stops are totally lacking. So when I see innovation in such fields, I kinda get envious at times. Like, I would love to have a chic looking Inox-O Bench at my bus stop. It’s got fancy OLED screens to illuminate it and give you trivia like temperature and time. A proper shelter from the elements and a safer spot at night.

Illusion For Hot Chocolate?

Illusion For Hot Chocolate?

We have been exploring the various ways to get the perfect coffee fix while completely ignoring our other addiction, CHOCOLATE! My apologies. It wasn’t till Ahmad Bittar brought to my notice the Maya Machine. Now Maya means illusion, so let’s get swept up in this fantasy express. Maya is completely dedicated to the chocolate cause, it’s similar to the espresso machine, but doesn’t use crass powders to bring out the choco-licious flavors. It uses special pods of real chocolate that melts & blends into steamed fresh milk. Giving you the perfect velvet-chocolate experience.

Advance Pinwheels

Advance Pinwheels

Pinwheels are iconic in the broad minds of children’s terrascapes but with a bit of tech prowess, adults can enjoy them too. The Solarlight is a project aimed at bringing attention to the wonders of wind power and to the current degenerate state of unsustainable energy. Acrylic blades catch the wind and a small generator lights a tube. As for why it’s called a Solarlight instead of Windlight? Umm, translation error?

Melting Away Lights

Melting Away Lights

I’ve had a bitter experience with a 200-watt bulb and here’s my story: when I dunked my phone accidentally into a mug of water, like a bright person I decided to evaporate the excess moisture by placing the phone under my table lamp. The 200-watt heat melted & disfigured the plastic interface and now I’ve cursed the bulb….and melted it! True story, but the Melt Bulb here is actually a reflection on how eco-conscious we are getting by replacing bulbs with LEDs. Just a gentle reminder by Keita, about precious electricity and how melted bulbs can make chic decor!
